Alaine Robb Covington was called home Wednesday, August 18, 2010 after a valiant battle with heart disease and diabetes. Alaine was born June 13, 1940 to John Calvin Robb and Hortense Beatty Robb in Cedar City, Utah. She married her sweetheart DuRell Garth Covington Jr on June 19, 1959 in the St. George Utah LDS Temple.Alaine was an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where over the years she held many callings in the Relief Society, Young Womans and Primary. She served missions in the church cannery, St. George Temple and LDS employment services. Some of her favorite joys in life were spending time with her family, camping, and playing games. She loved to crochet Christmas presents for her loved ones and baby booties, which she donated to the LDS Humanitarian Project.Alaine was preceded in death by her parents John and Hortense Robb, her siblings Zelma Glass, Ivy Evans, Marie Owens, Mont Robb, Claire Robb, Jack Robb and Sharon Jones.She is survived by her loving husband DuRell Garth Covington Jr., her children D. Garth Covington (Becky), ChloeAnn Covington, Andria Romberger (Vance), Robert Covington (Heidi) and Mark Covington (Keisha), 16 wonderful grandchildren and 1 great grandson.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Cedar City 15th LDS Ward Chapel located at 500 West 400 North in Cedar City, Utah. A viewing will be held on Friday, August 20, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Cedar City 15th Ward, and again on Saturday, August 21, 2010, 9:30-10:30 am also at the Church. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
