She grew up in Salt Lake, attended South High in Salt Lake City and Brigham Young University and married Robert Louis Seager, on February 3, 1956.

Barbara grew up cutting her teeth on her mother’s genealogy books and continued doing family history throughout her life, helping both her family and many others to find lost relatives and reunited families in this world and the next. She was known for her life of service and for supporting her husband who served in the military as well as a police officer. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as a genealogy specialist, Relief Society president and support to her husband while he was bishop, among many others. She was an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers for over 50 years. She enjoyed sewing clothes and draperies, crocheting, and working at the Happy Factory as well as doting on her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and other family that she adopted in her heart. She was an active member of her community and was well beloved by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her life of compassionate service, her testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, her commitment to her family, her quick wit, sense of humor and consciousness practicality.

She is survived by her spouse, Robert Louis Seager (Cedar City, UT), her children Steven Robert Seager (Taylorsville, UT), Katherine Rae Seager Rainwater (Cedar City, UT), and Helen Janette Seager Reber (Phoenix, AZ), as well as 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
