Beatrice Anne Judd

–

Cedar City, UT

Anne Ashcroft Judd was born on September 25, 1930 in Logan, Utah to Theron and Lucretia Ashcroft. Anne suffered a stroke on August 30, 2016 and passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2016. Anne graduated from Cedar City High School and then attended BAC and Utah State University. After teaching elementary school for a year, she married Harl Elmer Judd on June 2, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of six children; LuAnne Brown (Eric), David Judd (Lynnette), Jeannine Hart (Keenan), Charles Judd (Shauna), Sharon Sabin and the late Retta Gale. Anne was preceded in death by her Father and Mother, a sister Kay Ross (Richard), brothers Don Ashcroft (Maureen) and Charles Ashcroft, her daughter Retta Gale (Todd), and a great granddaughter Nona Evelyn Brown. She is survived by her sisters Marie Hansen (Hal), Judy Petersen (Randy), and Susan Ence (Ken). She and her husband are Grandparents to 24 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren Anne gave much to the community, serving on various boards and committees and giving untiring service to Southern Utah University and the Utah Shakespearean Festival. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully in many stake and ward positions. However, the calling she most loved was that of Visiting Teacher. Through service in the community and the church she developed many strong and cherished friendships. Anne, much like her own father, was a real people person. She loved traveling, weaving, quilting, jigsaw puzzles, and she was a voracious reader, always anxious to share the latest thing she had read with family and friends. Anne loved and cared diligently for her husband for many years. Although Anne's talents were many, she counted her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren her greatest accomplishment. Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cedar City 16th Ward, 1925 West 320 South, with a viewing the evening before from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Southern Utah Mortuary and a viewing Saturday afternoon at the church from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Interment in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
