On September 15, 2016 our sweet mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend Beverly Jean Olds Schoppmann returned home to her Heavenly Father. She was born June 26, 1934 in Cedar City, the second of five, born to Melvin and Elva Olds. As a young girl Mom always looked forward to each summer. She would spend her summers on Cedar Mountain with her Grandpa Hallman. In her late teens she enjoyed working at the downtown theatre. Beverly met her companion and soulmate Ira Schoppmann and they were married on May 29, 1952. Ira and Beverly are the parents of five children: Trudy Milne, Danise Decuir (John), Kendall Schoppmann, Jackie Perkins (Bobby), Becky DeMille (Greg). Their marriage was solemnized in the St. George Temple on May 29, 1959. Beverly’s profession was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed quilting and cooking. She loved her home, yard and garden, and made everyone feel welcome. Nobody ever went away hungry from a visit to Beverly’s. She was close to her brothers. She will be deeply missed. We will be seeing her through our hearts and memories. Beverly served in many callings in the LDS Church. One of her favorite callings was teaching in the scouting program. Ira and Beverly loved square dancing and were members of the Hay Cedar Square Dance Club and traveled to many conventions throughout their square dancing years. Ira and Beverly spent many summers at the family cabin built by their own hands. It created a lifetime of memories for their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Beverly is survived by her husband Ira, her five children, 20 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, her brother Lee Tommy Olds (Coleen) and sister-in-law Sandy Olds. She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Melvin H., Delynn, and Jay Don Olds; sister-in-law Kathy Olds; and son-in-law Bradley Bulloch. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 12:00 pm in the Cedar 2nd Ward Chapel (256 S 900 W, Cedar City, UT).
