Carlyle will make his final trip home to Redmond, the town where he started life on August 13, 1921 where he will find his final resting place. His life took him many places and held many surprises. He went from Redmond to Salt Lake City, Vernal, the Tongan Islands, and back to Redmond before making his home in Cedar City.He married Laura Amtoft on May 8, 1942. They were sealed in the St. George Temple March 8, 1958. Carlyle leaves three sons Dick Arnold (Madolyn), Salina; James Carlyle (Connie), Enoch; and Lynn Ray, North Carolina; 7 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.He was fortunate to find and marry Shirley Foster after Lauras death. They were married September 7, 1989 and have enjoyed 23 years of travel and companionship. He also leaves three brothers-in-law Clive (MaNaun) Foster of Cedar City, UT; Derrill (Nancy) Foster of Layton, UT; and Anthony (Lois) Foster of Henderson, NV; and three sisters-in-law Ruth Bullock of Salt Lake City, UT; Ferris F. (Laurence) Murphy of Henderson, NV; and Claire (Don) Bellum of Sedalia, CO.Carlyle loved to ride a good horse, which he owned many; and loved to drive a new car, he had many of those too. He enjoyed the mountains spring, summer, and fall but not so much in the winter. He loved camping, hunting, and dutch oven cooking.Carlyles life ended August 3, 2012 in Cedar City, Utah. He will be buried Tuesday, August 7, 2012 in Redmond, Utah after a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held Monday, August 6, 2012 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 N 300 W) in Cedar City, Utah.
