Dale Nielsen Harris, a sweet humble man, died July 7, 2025. He was born 95 years ago to LeRoy Wilford Harris and Edith Ellen Nielsen Harris. His siblings are Ellen (Fred) Pryor (both deceased), Nelda (Calvin) Beck (both deceased), Jane (Grandon) Orbon (both deceased), Lydia (deceased) (Gordon) Johnson, Frank (Pat) Harris, LaVee Collins, Ray (Merlene) Harris, Ned (deceased) (Gail) Harris, Ted (Pat) Harris, and Glenna (Lynn, deceased) Bradshaw. He loved and appreciated them.
One of his fun memories was during his two-year service in the U.S. Military, being in New York City waiting to be shipped out, he and three other soldiers dressed in uniform, and went to Radio City Music Hall. They were escorted up front and seated on the front row where they watched, among other performers, the Rockettes. He was a proud member of the American Legion and served as a Color Guard for many years. Upon his return home from the military, he knew he wanted to live in Beaver. Because of hard work, good management skills, and the help of his two sons, he became a successful farmer and rancher. He loved a good horse and dog. He felt blessed to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the Presidency of the Sunday School, Elder, and High Priest Quorums. He was the Ward Finance Clerk and Stake Finance Auditor. He served on the Farmers Home Administration Board of Directors and ASCS Board of Directors. He was named Beaver County Farmer of the Year twice.
Dale was thankful for his temple marriage to Fae Deon Muir seventy years ago, believing that families can be together forever. They enjoyed the opportunity to travel; flying to Switzerland, and touring in Europe, going with some of his siblings to Boston, touring Church history sites, going to the Statue of Liberty, Niagara Falls, and attending the Rose Parade in California. They loved getting into the car and driving up the California Coast Line, driving to Kentucky, and touring some of the Southern States. They were in Canada when 9/11 happened, and also enjoyed an all family cruise to Alaska.
They have been blessed with three children, Susan (Edward) Johnson, Scott, and Lynn (Sharol) Harris, eight of the best grandchildren in the world, Austin (Tausha) Harris, Shannon (David) Nelson, Lindsay (Kelton) Beacham, David (Kaliesha) Harris, Jaysen (Kamree) Harris, Shayla (Tyler) Tuttle, Shandon (Kirsten) Johnson, and Shanae (Tyson) Eyre, and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the Beaver 4th Ward LDS Church (220 North Main, Beaver, Utah). A viewing will be held from 9:00 - 11:00 am and the funeral will begin at 11:30 am. Interment will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery, Beaver, Utah under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
