Danny Bulloch

–

Cedar City, Utah

Danny Bulloch, 60, of Cedar City, UT passed away on December 7 th , 2024 in the St. George Hospital from unexpected respiratory arrest.

Danny was born on August 17th , 1964 in Cedar City, UT to Henry Matheson Bulloch and Jacqueline Albrecht Bulloch. Growing up on the East Side also known as Dog Town, terrorizing East Elementary and the entire neighborhood.

He was a hard worker from a young age and was always helping out on the farm. At 10 he started changing sprinklers on the old Corry Farm in Cedar Valley. At 12 years old he got his first motorbike and Danny and his brother Matt would rise early and make their way to Enoch to change sprinklers lines for Ivan Matheson.

Growing up he was very fortunate to get to spend a lot of time at his favorite place Hogsheaven with his Grandpa Chick, brother and cousins. They made a lot of colorful memories and according to Danny he was Grandma and Grandpa’s “FAVORITE”.

His love of horses started at a young age. One of his favorite horses growing up was Macker that he raised in the backyard on 300 East. Danny rode a lot of good horses in his lifetime.

Danny was an athlete. In his many years of little league, he was known for his catching and home run hits. In his last year of little league his coach Bill Kringlin called Danny “Fire Plug” because he was short, squatty but so essential, the nickname “PLUG” stuck!

He excelled in many sports but especially football and was Allstate his Junior and Senior year. He was a hardworking and dedicated athlete. His attitude, focus and determination were traits that he passed onto his kids and grandkids. He was extremely competitive which is also another trait he passed on. (Sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad!)

Danny graduated in 1982 from Cedar High School and was always proud to be a REDMEN. After high school he attended SUU on a football scholarship and then the University of Arizona where he graduated with his BS in Civil Engineering in 1990. He always joked that it took him a good 6 years to finish a 4 year degree!

In 1978 he began his career in the land surveying and engineering business and later became co-owner of Bulloch Brothers Engineering with his cousin Greg. Greg says Danny was the best business partner he ever had even though he was the “ONLY” business partner he ever had. He was licensed in UT, NV, AZ, ID, WY, OR and was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Danny and Carol were married in 1993 blending together 2 families of 5 kids Greg, Cabe, Austin, Tanya, and Angela and eventually having Ty, who according to Zach Hone was their only “real” kid. The two of them were very fortunate to be able to travel and make lasting memories with their kids and each other. Danny and Carol took long trailer trips all over the west, just the two of them. These were some of the BEST times of their lives, they were truly best friends!

Family was the most important thing in life for Danny. If there was anything his kids or grandkids were involved in, he always supported them! He was extremely proud and was their #1 fan, if he wasn’t able to be there in person, he would be sitting in a dive bar wherever he was on his phone watching football, basketball, wrestling, rodeo, gymnastics, even cheer. You name it he watched it!

The Deer Hunt was always Danny’s favorite time of year. He was blessed to spend many years hunting at Hogsheaven. Countless nights were spent around the campfire singing, bullshitting and having a drink with his best friends and family. After the evening’s festivities you could always find Danny sleeping comfortably in “The Sanddunes”. (If you know you know!)

Danny had a passion for horse racing and he’s had some great horses over the years. In the past few years, he and Carol were able to get back into the racehorse business. Owning several horses with some great partners, who have now become friends. Also giving them a chance to spend time with Dannys Dad, who is also his partner. Danny and Carol have been very lucky (or not so lucky!) to be able to chase their horses all over the state of New Mexico making so many fun memories together.

Danny truly loved life and lived it to the fullest. He had a way of connecting with people, he was kind, loving and loyal. His face would light up with his amazing smile every time he would see someone he knew. He made everyone around him feel like they were the most important person in the world, he was generous almost to a fault and always rooted for the underdog. He had a knack for making friends everywhere he went.

He was especially proud of his kids and grandkids and never missed an opportunity to brag about them. His love for them was unmatched, he will be missed greatly! A few quotes the kids heard many times from their Dad, The Man, The Myth, The Legend.
“Chicks dig me” “I’m a smart sons a bitch” “I’m a chick magnet” “Hey siri dive bars near me” “I know!” “You can drive down the mountain 100 times to slow, but only one time to fast.” “You have to beat the best to be the best” “I have morons on my team” “Pull your head out of your ass” “I’m proud of you sis”

Danny is proceeded in death by his Grandparents, Uncle Scott, Uncle Stan Slack, Cousin Stanley Slack and Father-in-law Ray Turley all of whom are likely welcoming him home with open arms and a cold beer.

Danny is survived by his wife Carol Bulloch, parents Matt (Jo) Bulloch and Jackie Bulloch, brother Matt (DeEtte) Bulloch, sister Donna (Keith) Christensen, children Greg (Jenna) Bulloch, Cabe (Josi) Jensen, Austin (Reggi) Bulloch, Tanya (Ryan) Reese, Angela (Tyler) Edwards, Ty (Charlotte) Bulloch, 17 grandchildren with 1 on the way and countless friends and family that he has touched.
