Dixie White Obituary (1916 - 2012)

Dixie Law White passed away peacefully on July 24, 2012 at the age of 96. Dixie was born on May 28, 1916 to Gibson and Elizabeth Empey Law in Beaver, Utah. She graduated from Beaver High School.Dixie married Howard Crosby White on October 1, 1943 in Las Vegas, NV. Their marriage was solemnized one week later on October 8, 1943 in the St. George Temple. Dixie and her husband Howard are the parents fo six children: Marilyn Mae (deceased); Charles David (Carolyn) White of Beaver, UT; Karen Lee (deceased); Howard Keith (Loralee) White of Beaver, UT; Nalani Jane (Michael) Gillins of Minersville, UT; and Joseph Dale (Marianne) White of Beaver, UT, 37 grandchildren and 39 great- grandchildren.Dixie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served faithfully in many capacities. She was a wonderful cook and seamstress, she loved her flower garden and she enjoyed writing poetry. One of her greatest joys was being with her sweetheart, Howard. She was a devoted wife and loving mother.She was preceded in death by her husband Howard, two daughters, Marilyn and Karen, two grand daughters, Mindy White and Kimberly Gillins, a great granddaughter, Sandra Jane White, her sister, Jane Law and her parents.Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday July 28, 2012 at the Beaver 1st and 2nd ward chapel. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver, UT all under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
