Minersville, Utah

DOROTHY DARLENE CARTER, our beloved sister, mother, grandma, great-grandma, great-great grandma, and friend, passed away on May 21, 2022, at the age of 90. Dorothy was born on July 3, 1931, in Pioche, NV to Dan and Pearl Baudino. She grew up in Milford, UT and graduated from Milford High School. Dorothy married the love of her life, Ted H. Carter on August 14, 1952, and they were later sealed in the St. George Temple on December 10, 1994, and eventually settled in Minersville, UT where they raised 8 children.
Dorothy’s biggest accomplishment in her career was being a mother and grandmother. Along the way she did try on a couple of jobs, mostly to get a break from the 8 at home. She worked in the sewing factory in Beaver, UT until it closed and after she tried her hand at being a waitress, mostly at the Hong Kong Café in Milford, UT. She said the café paid better for her waitressing skills than her kids did. Dorothy was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and willing to serve in any way she could.
Dorothy is survived by 6 of her children: Marie (Gary) Hayes of Enoch, UT; Darlene (John) Baza of Bountiful, UT; Ted Carter of Minersville, UT; Kevin (Meladean) Carter of Minersville, UT; Rick (Rebecca) Carter of Salem, UT; and Lisa Sidwell of Cedar City, UT. She was the proud grandmother of 37 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Karen Neilson of Cedar City, UT. She had many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents (Dan and Pearl), her husband (Ted), 4 of her siblings (Donna, Kay Louise, Reldon, Donald), her children Terry and Sherry (Randy), and 3 grandchildren. There is a big reunion going on in heaven, especially with her sweetheart whom she has missed so dearly for the last 18 years.
Our family would like to give sincere gratitude to Milford Memorial Hospital for the care they provided mom the last few years of her life.
