DruElla Chamberlain Obituary (1928 - 2018)

DruElla Orton Chamberlain, 90, passed away on November 20, 2018 at Stonehenge Care Center in Cedar City, Utah. She was born on April 4, 1928 to William Taylor and Iona Baldwin Orton in Provo, Utah. She graduated from Parowan High School in 1946. She married her High School sweetheart, Bud Chamberlain on July 9, 1945, and were sealed in the St George Temple on September 23, 1947, and they had 50 wonderful years together. DruElla was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served for many years in Young Women’s and Relief Society, as well as the ward Librarian. She worked in the family business, Color Country Glass as the secretary, and Gem Jewelers. She was active with Bud in the Lion’s club, and continued after he passed until the last week of July 2018 when she was no longer able to attend. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and attended the Senior Citizens center every Friday until she was no longer able. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, collecting spoons, bells and plates. She also liked playing Solitaire, reading and doing word search books, and was a Jazz fan. Most importantly for DruElla was her time spent with family and friends at the mountain cabin, and travelling with Bud and friends. DruElla is survived by her daughter, Anngela (Howard) Christiansen of Cedar City; her sister, Sandra (Stephen) Pittenger of Grand Junction, Colorado; 15 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Iona Baldwin Orton; her husband Llewellyn C. (Bud) Chamberlain; her infant daughter, Vanda; son and daughter-in-law Ronald and Diane Chamberlain; daughter, Marsha Chamberlain Bulloch, and brothers Caudell Orton and Melvin Orton. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Cedar 15th Ward Chapel (500 W 400 N, Cedar City, UT). Viewings will be held on Sunday, November 25, 2018 from 6:00 -8:00 pm at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 N 300 W, Cedar City, UT), and on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 9:30 – 10:30 am at the Cedar 15th Ward chapel. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
