Edwin Franklin “Frank” Heiser Jr. passed away 24 December 2017 at the age of 88. Frank was born 16 October 1929 to Edwin Franklin Heiser Sr. and Elizabeth Mae Divett in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the oldest of three children. Frank grew up in Salt Lake City. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northeastern States Mission, then attended Brigham Young University and the University of Utah, receiving a B.S. degree in engineering in 1955. He married Kathryn Maria Murdock on 24 September 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised five children: Richard of Ellicott City, Maryland, Susan Gillispie of Pleasant Hill, California, Annette Barnum of Twin Falls, Idaho, Christine White of Oakdale, Minnesota, and Robert of Zion’s National Park, Utah. Kathryn passed away after 55 years of marriage in 2007. He was married to Alice Hague from 2008 to 2017. He married Sharon Whittaker on 22 July 2017. They had five joy-filled months together. They enjoyed numerous excursions around town, always on a route that would take them by the Cedar City Utah Temple. Most recently they began to serve in the temple. He quickly developed memorable relationships with his newest grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard (Dick). Survivors include his wife Sharon, his five children, 21 grandchildren, and 48 great-grandchildren, his sister Janice Durrant of Morgan, Utah, and his sister-in-law Judy Heiser of Eden Prairie, Minnesota. He lived a full life committed to his family, always supporting his children in their activities. He was everyone’s favorite handyman. He appreciated music, enjoyed model railroads, traveled all around the country and the world, and enjoyed miles of driving! He devoted countless hours of service in his faith, serving in a multitude of callings and always ready to share his testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cedarview Ward (1925 W 320 S, Cedar City) on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 N 300 W, Cedar City) on Friday from 6 to 8 pm, and from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the church on Saturday, prior to the service. Interment will be at the Mountain View Cemetery, in Beaver, under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
