Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Emilie Irene Pittman Shipley, 53, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2010 at her home in Cedar City, Utah. She was born August 3, 1957 in Port Arthur, Texas to Charles Herbert and Charlotte Haglund Pittman.Mom was a special woman who was considered a mother to not only her own children but all those in the neighborhood as well. She was always there to offer a word of support, love or the occasional warning or reprimand when needed!Mom enjoyed sewing and quilting. She loved to sing and spend time with her family. She enjoyed her long history and friendship with her drill team members and friends from high school and kept touch with almost all of them over facebook and the internet. Mom was an avid "nerd" and she will be dearly missed until we meet again. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a real and genuine love of our Savior. We are certain she is experiencing a joyous reunion on the other side as she is preceded in death by many beloved family members and friends. She is survived by her husband, Tony Dean Shipley of Cedar City, Utah and her children Angela Dawn Tyler of Flint, Texas, Donald Ray Tyler, Jr. Of Nederland, Texas, Shawn Fitzgerald of Nederland, Texas, Scott Thompson of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Ian Shipley, Tiffany Thompson and Mirielle Shipley all of Cedar City, Utah. She loved each of us very much.
