Florene Richardson Sherratt, age 84, passed away on February 3, 2022, in St. George, Utah. She was born on September 21, 1937, in Cedar City, Utah to Elton Edmund Richardson and Rose Ina Grimshaw. She graduated from Cedar City High School. Florene married Jack Orlon Sherratt on July 26, 1958, in the St. George LDS Temple. She later graduated from Brigham Young University Provo with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education – Special Education.\n\nFlorene was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in various callings. Jack and Florene served a Family History Mission and a Temple Square Mission where her love for genealogy grew. She helped establish a regional Family History library in Cedar City. Florene loved her family, her friends, the church, genealogy, and her flower garden.\n\nFlorene is survived by her children Ann S. (Gerald) Johnson of Boise, ID, Sally Marie (Patrick) Rankin of Kelso, WA, David Lee Sherratt of Tacoma, WA, Patrick Steve (Julie) Sherratt of Coulee Dam, WA, Florette Hope Sherratt of Cedar City, UT, and James Orlon (Rhonda) Sherratt of St. George, UT. Her brothers Coral (Karen) Richardson, Kenneth (Carrol) Richardson, and Leo (Diane) Richardson. Her sisters Eloa Battraw, Zola Price, Mary (JC) Heaton, Vana (Mike) Rowley, and Elener (Frank) Scott. Her 25 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.\n\nFlorene is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Orlon Sherratt. Her parents Elton and Rose Ina Richardson. Her children Linda Ulibarri and George Wallace Sherratt, her great-grandson Kaydon Sillitoe, and her sister Marilyn Alger.\n\nFuneral services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Midvalley Three Peaks Ward (40 East Midvalley Road). A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Interment will be in the Enoch City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
