Geneal Covington Palmer returned to the loving arms of our Heavenly Father, Jan.2, 2010 in Cedar City, Utah. Geneal was born July 9, 1942 to DuRell and Marzell Covington in Hurricane, Utah. She was actively involved in 4-H and graduated from Hurricane High School. After two years attending college in Cedar City, Geneal attended school in Salt Lake City graduating with a degree in cosmetology. All of the skills she developed early in her life were a great benefit to her family, community and church. She married Doyle Palmer in 1965, in Ely, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized Jan. 9, 1971 in the St. George Temple. Mom was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in a number of callings in Primary, Relief Society and Scouting. She lived for her husband, sons, and grandchildren. (Or "Her family meant everything to her")She is survived by her husband: Doyle Palmer, sons, Doyle Edward (Sharon), Terry (Tammy), Larry (Marlinda), Tracy (Marlena), Stacey (Allison), Brett (Gennie), Trevor (Tammy), Ryan (Abby), and Courtney (Pat) Palmer, 24 grandchildren, Brothers; Garth (Alaine) Covington, ElRoy (Linda) Covington, and Sister Leota (Kelly) Kleinman. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother; Kerry Covington, and grandson Taylor James Palmer. Services will take place Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the LDS Meeting house located on 500 W. 400 N. Cedar City, Utah, with interment following at the Enoch City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. A viewing will take place before the service from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Relief Society room.
