George Albert Bleazard, cherished and devoted husband of Edith Gail Schuenman Bleazard, passed away February 15, 2011 in Cedar City, Utah. Born January 16, 1930, to George Hopwood Bleazard & Blanch Miles Bleazard, he grew up in Tooele, Utah with his 9 beloved brothers and sisters. Being recruited by the air force, on a baseball scholarship he was stationed at Nellis Air Force base. After meeting Gail at a church dance in Las Vegas, she instantly became the love of his life and they were married on December 6, 1952. The proud father of four sons; Steven George Bleazard (Robyn Wray Bleazard) of Las Vegas, Brett AllenBleazard (Whitney Wasden Bleazard) of St. George, Utah, Scott Leon Bleazard (Debbie Tingey) of Las Vegas, and Jeffery Lynn Bleazard (Mauri Turley Bleazard) of Cedar City, Utah, he leaves behind a great legacy of faith, devotion and love. His boys revered him, his daughters-in-law adored him. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in many capacities with unwavering faith. He and Gail served a mission in Sharon Vermont in 2001 and 2002. George taught by example, had an unmatched work ethic and touched the lives of everyone he met. He is deeply loved by the 16 grandchildren he leaves behind and his 9 equally wonderful great grandchildren. As a long time resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, he worked as a hairdresser for over 40 years. He enjoyed the friendship of many, but none so much as his lifelong golfing partners. He had many choice and cherished memories with them.In more recent years he resided in Beaver, St. George and Cedar City, Utah where he enjoyed retirement, endless rounds of golf and time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, his two older brothers, Lowell and Grant Bleazard, and his sisters Shyrl Thygesen, Marie Tuckett, Donna Williamsen, and Jenny. Living siblings are Sandra Outsen, LaVon Isom and Berniece Castagno.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bloomington Stake Center Chapel located on 200 West Brigham Road in St. George, Utah (Brigham Road Exit in Bloomington). A viewing will be held prior to services on Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Panaca, Nevada Cemetery, under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
