George "Carlos" Bohn, age 80, of Minersville, Utah, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015, in his home in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born on August 10, 1935 to Albert Moore & Lola Rebekah Eyre Bohn in Minersville, Utah. After graduating from Beaver High School, Carlos joined the U.S. Marines. He was honorably discharged in 1961. Carlos married Beverly Jean Collins, and together they have 7 children. Carlos was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he was serving as the Executive Secretary and Financial Clerk in his ward. Beverly was Carlos' first love, but golf came in a close second. His children and grandchildren have many memories of the countless hours Carlos spent in the backyard giving free golf lessons to the grandkids. From the time they could crawl, Carlos would be on the floor teaching them to put golf balls in a cup. As they got older, he taught them to putt a wiffle ball around the living room, even when the golf club was twice as tall as the kids. Beverly watched balls bounce off the walls and furniture, while praying that nothing got broken. As the grandkids continued to grow, Carlos shared his wealth of knowledge about golf with them. They soon learned to slice a ball, putt, and all kinds of grips. The grandkids loved going to grandpa's house. They all enjoyed being his caddie, but they also knew they couldn't use grandpa's clubs. That's where grandma came in. All the grandkids used her clubs. Those clubs aren't in very good condition now, but they are certainly a beloved set of golf clubs. Carlos is survived by his wife, Beverly, 7 children: Brett (Carmon) Bohn, Las Vegas, Nevada, Eric Bohn, Indiana, Wade Bohn, Henderson, Nevada, Christine Bean, Las Vegas, Nevada, Michael Bean, Las Vegas, Nevada, Jodi (Joe) Collins, Ely, Nevada, Richard (Sheryl) Bean, Henderson, Nevada, sister Lola Laree Jones, and sister-in-law Jeannine Bohn. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. Carlos is very loved by his family and they miss him already. Carlos was preceded in death by his parents, Albert & Lola, brother Albert Kurtt Bohn his paternal grandparents, Albert & Sarah Banks Bohn, and his maternal grandparents, George H. & Emma Walker Eyre. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 12:00 pm at the Minersville Stake Center (130 West Main Street). A viewing will be held prior to the service from 10:30 am - 11:30 am.
