Glenna Maud Hannig Leany, age 100, passed away May 25, 2015 in Cedar City, UT. She was born on July 30, 1914 in Washington, UT to Joseph Arnold and Sopha (Prince) Hannig. Glenna received her education in Washington, Utah. In her younger years she was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved working with the youth. She was very active when she was not working to support herself and her boys. She is sealed to Rodney Leany in the St. George Temple. Glenna married Rodney Leany in 1929 and is the mother of four boys. She loved fishing and hunting and was an awesome shot. Camping was a delight to this special lady. She was famous for her cooking in her own restaurants. She started out as a dish washer in the beginning at the Swanky Club and Sunrise Restaurant. She later managed the Henderson Drug Store and Food Counter. She was later part owner of the Swanky Club in Henderson and owned the famous Hill Top House in Las Vegas, Nevada. No one did it better. She is survived by her sons Lloyd H. Leany (Florence) of Silverlakes, CA and Arvan Rodney Leany (Donetta) of Grand Junction, CO; brothers Warren Hannig and Verdon Hannig of St. George, UT; sisters Karen, Cleo and Arlene; granddaughter Kim, who has so lovingly taken care of her for the past few years; 16 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren and 78 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, also her sons Sheldon Joseph Leany and Lynn Mark Leany; brothers Arnold Hannig and Willard Hannig; and sisters Fern Riding, Wilma Bolstead and Phebe DeMille. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Iron Springs Ward Building (1650 W Center St, Cedar City, UT). Viewings will be held Friday, May 29th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 N 300 W, Cedar City, UT) and Saturday, May 30th from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the church under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
