On October 27, 2015 at 1:15 p.m., June Schnarr passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. June was born on June 2, 1927 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Benjamin and Rose Kunz Jones. She lived a very rich and full life and although she had several serious types of cancer, she refused to allow it to control or dictate her life. June was a strong woman of faith who loved and trusted in the Lord to care for her regardless of how serious her prognosis might be. June's husband was always by her side throughout her trials with cancer up unto the time of her passing. They met at the La Purisima Mission State Historic Park in Lompoc, California where they were members of Prelado De Los Tesoros as docents. June loved working at the mission instructing fourth grade students about early mission culture and life. Throughout her many years there she made many friends and was well loved. June and Dennis spent many days hiking along the central California coast, its oceans and mountains. They hiked so much, in fact, that June wore out a hip replacement and had to have a second hip replacement! In 2002 June and Dennis moved to Cedar City, Utah to enjoy its many beautiful national parks and abundant wildlife. June was an amazing, intelligent, and loving woman who was a friend to all she met. She was a philanthropist at heart and along with her husband Dennis was an avid supporter of Valley View Medical Center, Dixie Regional Medical Center and the Intermountain Southwest Cancer Center. They were supporters of the Iron County Friends of Police K-9's, the Salvation Army, the "Walk to Emmaus Movement," Their church "The True Life Center," and the "Life Pacific Christian College" where they supported many students from their freshman year through graduation. June enjoyed her many "rescued" cats, her two malamute dogs and her girls (her two chickens). Although June was "88 years young," she especially enjoyed driving her super-charged Hummer H-2! In June's last typical act of giving to others, she donated her long, beautiful, curly hair to "Locks of Love!" June was preceded in death by her parents and sister "Lorraine." June is survived by her husband Dennis and her sons David Mulligan (Krista) and James Mulligan (Alice). June had two granddaughters Kristin Delwichie (Ben) and Darcy Mulligan. June had a great grandson "Nicholas Delwichie" and six cousins: Marriot Little, Doris Bason, Earline Proctor, Robert Long, Russel Long and Emily Withers. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the "True Life Center" at 2111 North Main, Cedar City, Utah (435) 867-0405 www.tlc2.org. Arrangements are being handled by Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be made at www.sumortuary.com. June's family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Derrick Haslam, Cheryll Bellomo RN and MSN Oncology Nurse Navigator of the Intermountain Southwest Cancer Center and also, a special thank you to the wonderful staff of Hospice Alliance: Ethan Bunker, Hanna Price, KC Fotheringham, Leisa Tischner and Garry Graf.
