Kenneth LaVar Cox, age 83, passed away September 20, 2012 in St. George, Utah. He was born to William Edgar and Margaret Black Cox on July 10, 1929 in Cedar City, Utah.Kenneth was a graduate of Valley High School, served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the American Legion. He served a mission for the LDS Church in Nashville, Tennessee and served in many church callings such as high priest group leader and ward missionary. He worked as a dairyman most of his life until he retired and served a mission for his church. When he came home, he worked as a greeter at fast-food restaurants. Kenneth loved playing the guitar and singing for the people at the Meadows.He is survived by his wife Beth LaRae Cox; his children Teresa Pickering (Dana) of St. George, UT; Jess Cox (Debbie) of Beaver, UT; Beth Ann Pittser (Keith) of Cedar City, UT; sister Pearl Johnson (Floyd) of Sandy, UT; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Mervin, Isaac, Marion, Neldon; sisters Ivy, Ella Vivian, Fontella, Velva, and Lela.Funeral services will be held Monday, September 24, 2012 at 12:00 pm at the Beaver 5th Ward Chapel (220 N Main) in Beaver, Utah. Visitation will be held prior from 10-11:30 am at the church. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver, Utah under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
