LaFawn Crosby Robinson, beloved wife of Mark Applegate Robinson, passed peacefully from this mortal existence on September 22, 2023 at the wonderful age of 98 years old. LaFawn was born January 15, 1925 in Cedar City, Utah. She is a daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, and a friend to all-- many of whom she helped with compassionate nursing skill.\n\nShe lived in Enoch, Utah until age 17 and a short time in Pima, Arizona. At 17 years old, after the death of her mother, she faked her age and became an Army Nurse Cadet a few months early and became a Registered Nurse after 4 years. In her last year at the University of Utah, she married the love of her life Mark when he came home at the end of WW2 as a wounded veteran. Their marriage was sealed for eternity in the St. George Temple on the 14th of April 1962. She served on a base in Wyoming and then Mark and LaFawn settled in Cedar City, Utah. LaFawn was a Nurse at Iron County Hospitals for the next 35 years including several years as a surgery supervisor and then as the Iron County School District Nurse, healing students and teachers and wiping noses for 12 years.\n\nLaFawn was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many callings including extraction specialist, librarian, Relief Society Presidency and wife of the Bishop "Mother of the Ward". She served a mission with her husband in Ghana, Africa and England, and missions as Employment specialists and also volunteered with the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.\n\nLaFawn and Mark loved to spend time together-- always at the mountain cabin, square dancing, trailer gang trips, and going for rides. They also made trips to Hawaii, Alaska, England, the Holy Lands, and church history sites.\n\nShe is proceeded in passing by her Parents Eliza Catherine Gibson Crosby and Clarence Crosby, her husband Mark and sister Norma, 4 younger siblings (George David, Evyone, Elizabeth, Etta) who lived only hours or days, and her daughter-in-law Peggy. LaFawn is survived by her Daughter Tamala Lynn Robinson Bird (Morris Edward,"Ted"), Oldest Son Rick Mark Robinson (Nanci), Son’s Randy Jay Robinson (Debra) and Greg Arthur Robinson (Tamera). As well as her 23 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.\n\nA granddaughter said it this way: "I can only imagine the reunion in heaven this morning between my Grandma and Grandpa, when my grandparents were dating and Grandpa went away to war. He was shot and came home fragile and weak. My Grandma was so excited to see him when he came home, she jumped into his arms and nearly made him fall. I’m sure today’s greeting was even more special.”\n\nFuneral Services will be held on Saturday September 30th, 12:30 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints - 4th Ward Building (500 West 400 North, Cedar City). Viewings will be held on Friday September 29th from 6pm to 8pm and Saturday, prior to the funeral from 11:00 am to noon. Interment will be in the Enoch Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
