Lois Marie Halterman Fowler was born July 8, 1928 to Robert Lee Halterman and Bertha Butella Rassmussen. She was one of eleven children. Lois attended Parowan Elementary and Parowan High School. She move to California where she met and married the love of her life, W.B. "Doug" Fowler and raised five children. She had 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and two more on the way!Lois loved baseball and was involved in the Little League program in California. In the 1960's, she went on a game show, "Queen For A Day," where she became the winner of a very fine cow. Lois liked to bowl and was a member of the Womens Bowling League. She enjoyed traveling and saw much of the United States and even once taking a very memorable trip to Indonesia.She eventually came back to her beloved Parowan, where she loved to garden, can and cook. She liked to sew and crochet and loved to go fishing at Yankee Meadows. Lois loved and devoted herself completely to her family " not just her children but she loved and adored each and every one of her grand and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and remembered by her family and friends who love her very much.She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, held various callings throughout here life. We are certain a joyous reunion is taking place in heaven, as Lois is reunited and preceded in death by both her parents, two sons, seven brothers and one sister.A graveside service in her honor will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. in the Parowan City Cemetery in Parowan, Utah with interment to follow, all under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
