Marann Webster Obituary (1936

Marann Bradshaw Webster was born June 16, 1936 to Sherwin and Marie Bradshaw in Cedar City Utah. She lived most of her life in Cedar City. She grew up on College Avenue and was the 4th of five children. She loved music and played the French horn in the Cedar High band and orchestra. She graduated from Cedar High in 1954. She soon married the love of her life Joel Webster on November 6, 1954 and would have celebrated their 60th anniversary in November. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. Early in their marriage they bought a ranch in Panguitch Utah where they raised cattle. They lived there 5 years and loved it there. They were sad when they couldn't make a go of it due to a few harsh winters and moved back to Cedar where they raised their family. Marann loved her family and was blessed with three children and 12 grandchildren. Her life was centered on them and how she could serve. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various capacities a couple of which include Relief Society President and YW President. She was an active visiting teacher. Later in her life, she served with the church extraction program and in genealogy. She was the Historian for many years for the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers in Cedar City. Marann loved life. She enjoyed camping with her family, pine nut picking and giving them as gifts to all her friends and neighbors. She loved long drives, early morning walks, the local entertainment, concerts and gardening with her husband. Marann and Joel used to square dance and that was a joy to her. She is also a big fan of the Utah Jazz. She loved to organize and cook for family functions. Her biggest gift and strength was her ability to quietly serve others. During her working years she was the lunch room manager "lunch lady" for 14 years at Cedar High and the North Elementary. She was always a hard worker and has instilled that in her children. She loved quilting, sewing, crocheting and was a woman of many talents. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband Joel, son Kendall (Danna) Webster, daughters Kristen (Craig) Beatty, and Katherine (Reggie) Campos and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Sherwin and Marie Bradshaw, step-mother Ruby Bradshaw, sister, LuRae Garn and brother, Paul Bradshaw. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Cedar 4th North Chapel, 500 W. 400 N. A viewing will be held at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 N 300 W) on Friday, June 13 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and then at the Church on Saturday, June 14 from 12:30-1:30 pm. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be sent to sumortuary.com.
