Our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, Mary Rebecca Bourland Thompson, 92, passed away on December 29, 2012 in Beaver, Utah.Mary was born January 26, 1920 in Matador, Texas to Edwin L. and Ellla Blanche CollettBourland. She grew up and graduated high school in Texas. She married Vernon R. Thompson on December 15, 1945 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They were later sealed in the LDS Temple on December 16, 1946. During WWII, Mary worked at Tinker Field Air Depot in Oklahoma City. She was active in various church callings in Relief Society and youth conferences. She was an honorary member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting, scrap booking, collecting, camping and genealogy. She loved to travel all over the United States while visiting family and friends. Mary is survived by her husband, Vernon, her two children, Michael E. Thompson (Lujean) of West Valley City, Utah and Della C. (Phil) Brammer of Saratoga Springs, Utah, 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Charles R. Thompson. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Beaver LDS 2nd Ward Chapel in Beaver, Utah. A visitation for family and friends will be held 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the Beaver LDS 2nd Ward building.
