Nash Prisbrey Obituary (1999 - 2020)

Our angel on earth, Nash Heber Prisbrey, left this earthly life behind June 9, 2020. He was born September 14, 1999, in Salt Lake City. His parents had waited so long for him to arrive. Finally, a birth mother had chosen them and within a week they were parents. Getting him was the best day of their lives! Nash loved his bottle and grew quickly. Soon this beautiful baby had rolls all over his body and the happiest smile imaginable. As a little boy he loved tools and trucks, just like his dad. He wouldn’t leave home without his hard hat and tool belt. He also loved riding a bicycle. It felt like he learned to ride before he learned to walk. He never stopped believing in Santa and couldn’t wait for him to come each year. He was so excited when his baby sister Jayde was born. His parents thought he might love her to death. Elementary school was a struggle for Nash until he met Lila Bowden. She was the teacher who changed everything for him. He loved learning about space, historical events, and volcanoes. Nash loved riding motorcycles and snowmobiles alongside his dad and friends. Nash’s signature greeting was a giant bear hug for everyone he knew and loved, and Nash loved everyone he knew. He had an amazing sense of direction. We never worried that he would get lost. Nash considered everyone he met to be a friend. He was always questioning and asking and learning. He was overjoyed to graduate alongside his peers from Cedar High School, Class of 2018. Nash loved to travel, most recently visiting Hawaii in 2019 with his dad and Aubree. When his stepfather passed away last year, he called his mother and said “I’m here for you mommy”. And he always was. He gave of his time plowing snow, mowing lawns and taking out his neighbor’s trash. He spread joy with his mere presence. His zest for life was contagious. He lived his life to make other people happy. His tender soul made each person he met feel like the most important and special person in the world. He is survived by his mother, Chari Mecham Spring, father, Shane K. Prisbrey, sister Jayde Prisbrey, stepbrother Kolby Spring, grandparents Jay and Georgia Prisbrey, and lots of aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his stepfather Shawn Spring and his grandparents Anna Charee Harris Mecham and Frank Riggs Mecham. Funeral service will be on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 1:00pm at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 N 300 W, Cedar City, UT). Viewings will be Friday June 12, 2020 from 6:00 – 8:00pm, and Saturday June 13, 2020 at 12:00pm at Southern Utah Mortuary. Interment will be in Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
