Norman Jones Grimshaw passed away December 14, 2016 in Cedar City, Utah, incident to old age. He was just shy of his ninety-third birthday. Norman was born in Enoch, Utah on January 2, 1924 to Randolph and Estella Jones Grimshaw. He married Loleen Naegle on May 8, 1943 in the St. George Temple, just prior to entering active duty in the U.S. Army during World War II. Norman was involved in several major battles during the war and was wounded in battle, receiving the Purple Heart. Norman was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many leadership positions in the LDS Church throughout his life. Two of his favorite callings were foreign missions for the LDS Church with his wife, one in Lagos, Nigeria, and the second at the Toronto Canada Temple. In addition he also served for many years in the St. George Temple. He and Loleen were also dance instructors for around 25 years. Norman retired after 30 years of working for the United States Postal Service where his humor and friendship was cherished by many. He remained active in the National Association of Retired Federal Employees until he was 88. His true love was his farm where he raised hay, cattle and kids. Norman was involved in the community, serving on the Enoch City Council, on the water board for several decades and as the secretary-treasurer when Enoch became a town. He was active in Boy Scouts of America for many years earning the coveted Silver Beaver Award in 1974. And he enjoyed singing and was an original Master Singer and then returned to the group after retirement. Norman was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Paul and Douglas Grimshaw, and by his wife of sixty-nine years. He is survived by his children: Michael N. Grimshaw (Elizabeth-deceased), Randy M. Grimshaw (Sandra), Carol Grimshaw (Don Wilson-deceased), Joy Brough (Larry), Karen Gledhill (LaRell), Norma Lloyd (Ronald), Bruce N. Grimshaw (Kristine), and Susan Lewis (Jeffrey), 29 grandchildren and 61-½ great grandchildren so far. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 1:00pm at the Enoch Stake Center (2233 E. Village Green Road, access from Heather Hue) in Enoch, Utah. Visitations will be held Friday, December 16, 2016 from 5:00-7:00pm at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 N. 300 W.) in Cedar City, Utah, and on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 11:30am in Enoch, Utah prior to the services.
