Norman D “Buddy” Lund, 84, passed away on January 3, 2019, in Cedar city, Utah. He was born, January 16, 1934, in Cedar City, Utah to Willard and Marva Lund. He married Karon Walker on October 29, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple, and together they had their 3 children, Barbara, Norman and James.\n \nNorman worked for 29 years as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic for Utah International Iron Mines, and then 17 years working construction around the country. He also served in the Army, and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Buddy loved spending time with his family and spending time on the mountain.\n \nNorman is survived by his loving wife, Karon Walker Lund; their children, Barbara Powell of Cedar City, Norman Merdell (Roylene) Lund of West Jordan, UT, James Lee (Stacey) Lund; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and his sister, Dora Knight. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Marva Lund, and siblings Verna, Ladonna and Norma.\n \nFuneral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 am at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 N 300 W, Cedar City, UT). There will be a viewing on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 9:30 – 10:30 am at Southern Utah Mortuary. Interment will be in Paragonah Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
