Cedar City, Utah

Peter James Smith, of Beaver, Utah was enjoying a day up in the mountains with his brothers and friends. They were riding ATVs when he was called home to his Heavenly Fathers kingdom. Our dearest Peter will be greatly missed.Peter was born September 5, 1991, in American Fork, Utah, to Clint and Diane Smith. He graduated from Beaver High School, class of 2010. He was active in Soccer all 4 years, and was loved by everyone who knew him. He is a very strong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He received his mission call to the Independence Missouri Mission, and was to leave on December 15th. He was very excited to go and serve the people in Missouri, and was getting ready to do the Lords work. Peter once wrote in his Test imony Paper for Brother Wilkins seminary class I am so thankful for all that Christ has gone through for me, and for everyone. But He did this because he loves us, each one individually Peter truly knew this. He loved everyone, and never spoke an ill word about anyone. He loved serving others, and doing all he could to lighten the burdens of others.Music was a big part of Peters life. He taught himself to play guitar, and loved to just play, and sing for fun. We will miss our quirky, spunky Peter. He will always be remembered for all the good that he did.We know that he is now called to serve his mission in a foreign land. We love him, and are saddened by the tragedy we are facing here on earth. We are so grateful to the knowledge we have; we know we will live with him again, and will be reunited for eternity.Dearest Peter, we know that your mission has been altered to include the world, and those in darkness beyond the veil. You will be a great missionary teaching and leading many from darkness to the light. Work hard, watch over us, and we will be together again.Peter is survived by his Mom & Dad (Clint and Diane) brother & sisters (Krystal, Jacob, Katelynn, Kelsey, McKell) He is also survived by his best friend, his brother, Jake Carter, his Grandparents, his aunts, his uncles, his cousins, and many friends. Please join us for Peters mission farewell to be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 20, 2010 with a viewing prior from 11:00-12:30 pm at the Beaver Stake Center.
