Ricky Boyd Shotwell, age 76, passed away on May 23, 2026. He was born on June 18, 1949, in San Bernardino, California. At age 12, Rick moved with his family to North Creek in Beaver, Utah, where he grew up and spent most of his life.
On June 6, 1976, Rick married the love of his life, Cheri, at the Black Steer Steak House in Beaver. Their marriage was the center of his world. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to their family.
Rick was a gifted artist who found joy in painting and drawing. He took great pride in his yard, always dreaming up new landscaping ideas and reshaping the space around him. He had a joking personality—quick with humor, a grin, or a comment that could lighten any moment. More than anything, Rick had a rare gift for making people feel welcome, seen, and comfortable. Whether through a joke, a smile, or simply his easygoing presence, he made life feel a little lighter for those around him.
For many years, Rick was self‑employed as the owner of Rick’s Beauty Salon. His clients, many of them older ladies, adored him. Some came weekly not just for their hair appointments, but for the laughter, warmth, and friendship he offered so naturally.
Rick will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humor, creativity, and the simple gift of making others feel valued. His presence made life brighter, and his memory will continue to do the same.
Rick is survived by his wife, Cheri Shotwell, and his children:

Josh (Erica) Shotwell
Josie (Kiley) Eyre
Mollie Bradshaw, wife of the late Trent Bradshaw

He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 4 great‑grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
