Sheldon R. Albrecht, 84, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on October 29, 2014 at the Milford Memorial Hospital of causes due to liver disease. Sheldon was born April 23, 1930 in Bicknell, Utah to Claude M. Albrecht and LaPrele McKnight. As a young boy, he lived in Safford AZ and Minersville UT, graduating from Milford High School in 1948. He married his high school sweetheart, Mary G. Reese, on January 15, 1949. They were later sealed in the St George Temple on March 21, 1950. Dad worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 42 years, retiring as a conductor in 1992. After retiring, he enjoyed his involvement with the Milford Senior Citizens organization. He spent many hours beautifying the grounds to help & improve the community of Milford and took so much pride in his own yard. He was a devoted member of the LDS Church. Dad & Mom were called to serve as church service missionaries at Cove Fort in 1994. Dad held various church callings throughout his life and was always dedicated and served faithfully in those callings. Among some of the positions he held he truly enjoyed his time as bishop of the Milford First Ward. At the time of his death he was a stake patriarch. He loved his grandchildren. He enojoyed being out in the hills, especially deer camp and Easter picnics. He is preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, children, Janyce(Alan) Syndergaard, Taylorsville, UT; Joyce Wagner, Yuma AZ; Robert Albrecht, Kingman AZ; Julie (Dave)Olearain, Cedar City, UT; Carol (Barney) Thompson, Milford UT; Brother-in-law Larry (Lorna) Reese, two step-brothers, Dixon (Enid) Fotheringham and Bruce (Marilyn) Fotheringham. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday November 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Milford LDS Chapel. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday November 2, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again prior to services on Monday from 11:30 - 12:30 p.m. both at the Church. Interment will be in the Milford City Cemetery, under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
