Our beloved wife, daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Shirley Gay Miller, returned to her heavenly home on November 9, 2015 in her home in Cedar City, Utah. Shirley was the eighth of eleven children born to Hans Verlan Andersen and Shirley Hoyt Andersen. Shirley was born in Provo, Utah on December 2, 1953, and was blessed to come to a loving family. After serving an LDS mission in Venezuela, she married Markham Frederick Miller on December 18, 1976 in the Provo, Utah Temple. She gave birth to six children and she devoted much of her time and energies to her family. She loved to teach her children and to help them develop their talents. Shirley had a special gift for teaching young children and loved her many callings throughout her life in the Primary program of the church. Shirley is survived by her husband, Markham Frederick Miller; mother, Shirley Hoyt Andersen; children Adam, Benson (Samantha), Caleb (Melinda), Jacob (Ashley), Celeste (Bryan) Excell, and Jenna; twelve grandchildren; siblings Hans Andersen Jr., Glen Andersen, Dale Andersen, LaDawn Jacob, Karen Redd, Lynette Lewis, Kathy Kartchner, Elaine Andelin, and Dean Andersen. She is preceeded in death by her father; and brother Tim Andersen. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Cedar West Stake Center, 725 S 1100 W, Cedar City, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral service on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Church from 11:30-12:30 pm. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
