Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend Shirley Fay Wright returned home to her Father in Heaven surrounded by the love she created on May 19, 2026, in Beaver Utah. She was born November 15, 1932, in Delta Utah, the first of three children born to Harlon and Elva Stone. She spent most of her growing up years on a farm near Delta Utah where she developed a love of riding horses. She attended school in Delta, eventually graduating from Delta High School in 1951. She married Derral Walter Wright in Ely Nevada on April 26, 1952, their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Utah Temple on June 27, 1964.
Grandma was a very fun-loving soul who enjoyed life and spending time with her family. She took a special interest in each of her kids and Grandkids, attending sporting and musical performances, teaching them to bake, cook and craft. Her family is full of diverse individuals and she made sure that each relationship was unique, loving each member of her family just as they were. She loved high heal shoes could always be found sneaking new pair into the house, much to grandpa’s dismay. She loved putting on a pretty pair of heals to go out dancing with grandpa, old time country music was her favorite to sing along to as kicked up her heals and danced around the floor. She spent many years on the board of the Beaver County Fair, as a fair exhibitor and participant every year, and was selected as the Grand Marshall in 2008.
She surrounded herself with crafts and could always be found with a new project or two in the works. She was a wiz with her sewing machine, making the most beautiful dresses and outfits for her family to wear at their weddings, proms, and so many other special events. Her hands were always busy, crocheting afghans and tying quilts to keep her family warm. She filled her home with the projects and crafts that made her house always feel like home. There wasn’t a craft she couldn’t do, if she didn’t know how it was done, she would just sit down and start working on it until she had it figured out.
Grandma was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and her love of her Savior and his gospel was clear in all aspects of her life. She served faithfully in every calling extended to her whether in the Relief Society, Young Women’s or Primary. She loved serving and worshiping in the Temple every chance she got which included searching out her Family History and Genealogy. She kept meticulous records of her own family, documenting our lives in letters and pictures that found their way into beautifully made scrapbooks and albums.
She is survived by her children: Vickie (Howard) Allred, Delta Utah, Shirlene Willden, Beaver Utah, JoAnn (Kenneth) Baker, Payson Utah, Lisa Wright, Beaver Utah, 14 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great-Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Husband Derral, her parents and in-laws, her brothers Jay and Rex Stone, her son-in-laws Kevin Willden and Tony Smith and her Grandson Tyler Willden.
