Our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend, Susan Mitchell Adams, passed away peacefully September 18, 2023 at her home surrounded by family. She was born February 17, 1949 in Cedar City, Utah to Carlyle Benson and Kathleen Stones Mitchell. She married Jay Slack Adams on February 5, 1967 in Las Vegas Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St George temple on April 11, 1985. They were blessed with four daughters and two sons.

She grew up in Cedar City and graduated from Cedar High School. Throughout her life she held many positions in the medical field which she excelled at and enjoyed.

She was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held several church positions, among them was her role as a camp director, where she positively impacted numerous young women, including her own daughters. Her final calling was as a youth Sunday school teacher, a role she cherished deeply. She was very dedicated to her church callings all the way up until she was no longer physically able to attend church.

She enjoyed spending time on the mountain at the family cabin with her beloved husband, kids and grandkids. Her family was her greatest treasure.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jay Adams, her children Amy (Tyler) Garfield, Darin (Tera) Adams, Wade (Angie) Adams, Lisa (Randy) Clove, Amber (Tom) Iverson, Jayme (Kurt) Peterson, 26 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, her sister Carla (Ken) Fullerton and her sister-in-law Carla H. Mitchell.

She is preceded in death by her parents Carlyle and Kathleen Mitchell, her brother Blair Mitchell, and her sister Lynda Green.

The family would like to thank Bailey Coombs and all the staff at Zion’s Way Homecare and Hospice for their loving care and support.
