Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, wife and friend, Theresa K. Taurone passed away February 4, 2016. She was born in Brooklyn, NY July 15, 1943 to Edward W. and Mary A. Brant. She grew up in Brooklyn and Greenlawn, NY with her brother Edward, and graduated from Harborfields High School. She married her sweetheart, Ralph J. Taurone, on February 17, 1963 in Huntington, NY where they started their family. In 1965, Terry and Ralph moved their family to Chicago. In 1971, the family moved to Layton, Utah, where they later purchased their dream home. They hosted many family gatherings, reunions, and weddings. Their home was always full of love and laughter. Terry attended Weber State College and became a school teacher, working tirelessly with special needs children in Davis County schools. She was instrumental in establishing Project Pride, a program that gave to less fortunate families while allowing those families to maintain dignity and self-esteem. Her passion for her career and the children she helped was second only to her love and dedication to her family. While teaching, she also raised the couples four children, maintained a beautiful home and stunning garden. She cherished the time supporting her children and grandchildren in their many endeavors. Terry loved maintaining her impeccable garden, cooking for large family gatherings, feeding the birds that frequented her yard, exploring the beaches in North Carolina, laughing and traveling with her husband of 52 years, Ralph, the love of her life. Leading by example, she taught all that knew her what it is to give of yourself; to be there for those in need, support the people you love, and love the people you meet.Theresa is survived by her children, Christina (Brad) Blackner, Richard (Tammy) Taurone, John (Tiffany) Taurone, and Michael Taurone; grandchildren, Bronson (Wrendy) Aber, Kelsie (Billy) Brown, Corbyn Taurone, Blake Taurone, Mitchell Taurone, Brock (Jenna) Blackner, Shay Blackner, Lucas Phillips; and four amazing great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Mary Brant and by her husband Ralph J. Taurone. The outreach of love and support has been incredible and has truly touched Theresa’s family. We are very grateful to those who have played a role in her life. Please join us in celebration of her life.
