Beaver, Utah
Waldo "Bill" Kelsey, age 78, rode off into the sunset August 24, 2022 in Cedar City, Utah, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Bill was born March 18, 1944, in Beaver, Utah to Mike Kelsey Sr. and Isabel Yardley Kelsey. He grew up in Minersville, Utah and has lived there all his life. Bill went to Beaver High School where he graduated in 1962. His buddies set him up with a cute red head who later became the love of his life. Kaye and Bill were married on May 23, 1973 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Dad grew up on the back of a horse. Any time there was a horse race, dad was right in the middle of the excitement. He competed in many a race, and even won several. His passion was chasing wild horses.
Dad worked for Carter Custom Cattle for Dean and Rodney Carter for 36 years. He took pride in his work and accomplished it to the best of his ability. The Carters and Kelseys became as one family. You will never find a more honest and sweeter man as Bill Kelsey. Dad worked hard and played hard. Dad was the kind of man that would give you the shirt off his back, a friend to all he met. His knowledge of horses and the art of horse shoeing proceeded him wherever he went. No one loved horses more than Dad. Next to family and close friends, horses were his life.
Dad is survived by his wife Kaye, children Todd, Joe (Diane), Robbie (Debbie), and Suzi (Fox) Mariota, his grandchildren Nathan, Linzi, Austin, Tyler, Taylor (Kyle) Harley, Jacee, Austin, Siona, Kamri (Spencer) Griffith, and Angel, and his great-grandchildren Jadalyn, Kilynn, Emree, and Michael. He is also survived by his sisters Bobbie Parsons and Susann (Doug) Roundy, and many nieces and nephews.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Phil and Lola Roberts and Cec Wright, brother Mike Kelsey Jr., sister Emma Jane Davis, and brother-in-law Dean Parsons.
